Anisochronic Internal Model Control of Time Delay Systems
Time delay is a dynamic element that considerably complicates both theoretical and practical aspects of control system design. More or less satisfactory control of simple time delay systems that can be represented as a serial linkage of pure transportation delay and delay free system can be accomplished with Smith predictor. However, there is a lack of practically applicable control schemes for...
متن کاملI design to generalize internal model control
The internal model control (IMC) design method for stable plants has enjoyed much popularity due to its simple yet effective procedure. However, there are some shortcomings and inadequacies with the IMC design method for both stable and unstable plants which will be exposed in this paper. We propose a new H∞ control design method that somehow captures the useful properties of the IMC design met...
متن کاملAnti-Windup Design for Internal Model Control
This paper considers linear control design for systems with input magnitude saturation. A general anti-windup scheme which optimizes nonlinear performance, applicable to MIMO systems, is developed. Several examples, including an ill-conditioned plant, show that the scheme provides graceful degradation of performance. The attractive features of this scheme are its simplicity and effectiveness.
متن کاملDecoupling anisochronic internal model controllers for MIMO systems with state delays
This paper is motivated by theoretical problems arising during the design of the control system of carding machines. It focuses on the design of controllers of MIMO time-delay systems with both state and control delays. Systems of this class cannot be controlled by multivariable Smith predictors and there is a considerable lack of practically applicable alternative approaches. However, a suitab...
متن کاملTwo-Stage Multivariable Antiwindup Design for Internal Model Control
Multivariable plants under input constraints such as actuator saturation are liable to performance deterioration due to problems of control windup and directional change in control action. In this paper, we propose a two-stage internal model control (IMC) antiwindup design which guarantees optimal closed loop performance both at transient and at steady state. The two-stage IMC is based on the s...
